Hugh Hefner’s Sky Villa, located at the top of the Fantasy Tower of the Palms in Las Vegas, NV holds the record as the most expensive hotel room in the world. It’s two stories with 24/7 butler service.

Here’s the heart stopping and wallet emptying description:

This suite features a Playboy® pool with an outdoor-cantilevered Jacuzzi® pool with glass end wall and spectacular view of the Strip. The suite features the best of everything including a large living room, full bar, media room, dining room, fully equipped gym with sauna, and a spa style treatment room. For some unexpected style, enjoy the glass elevator, eight foot round rotating bed, an extra large show tub, pop up plasma televisions, poker table, and an outdoor terrace with strip views, sunbathing areas and a bar. This premier penthouse suite will have you living large.

Cost: $40,000 a night.

Too much for your budget. Step down (just a bit) to the Ty Warner Suite at the Four Seasons in New York City. Covering the entire 52nd floor with 360 degree city views, the 4,300 sq. ft. can’t be walked on with your shoes– you gotta wear “booties”.

Most Expensive Beer in the World

August 30, 2007 By: wmeb Category: Food & Drink No Comments →

most-expensive-beer.gif

The honor of most expensive brewski supposedly goes to La Vieille Bon Secours. Available at the Bierdrome, London, exclusively (so they say). Hmm, drinking the most expensive beer would probably make your pee worth alot too.

Cost: $1,000 a bottle (must be a really big one) (or $75 a pint.)

This information has been published on one site. I question the $1,000 bottle cost, since that would have made news. And I could not find a link to Bierdrome in London. Beermania has a 2L bottle of this beer listed for 29 Euros or about $40.

Maybe they’re talking about a super magnum super-magnum.gif

Can anyone verify the bottle cost or Bierdrome’s existence?

So I give the award to Samuel Adams Utopia MMII. First brewed in 2001. It’s high alcohol content adds to the allure: 25% (that 50 proof!) for the 2005 batch.

Cost: $100 per 24 oz. copper bottle . You drink it warm.

Most Expensive University in the US: GW

most-expensive-college.png

George Washington University, located a few blocks from the White House in Washington DC, is the most expensive university in the United States, according to Washington City Paper.

Cost: $50, 630 (includes room and board) for the freshman class.

You would have to do the math but 200 grand in a stellar mutual fund for 4 years while you worked as a bartender or waiter & went to community college, might get you a better return.

World’s Most Expensive Song: Somewhere Theres An Angel by Thurston Revival

August 17, 2007 By: wmeb Category: Music No Comments →

The song: Somewhere There’s An Angel.

The Artist: Thurston Revival

Cost: $198

thurston-revival.gif

Only a limited edition of 100 12-inch vinyl pressings will be made of the artist’s debut song. The record will be released by Victorious Kiam Records. Each will be numbered and signed by the artist. What I think is cool is that the cover art will be designed by 10 of the UK’s most interesting artists (listed at the bottom of the jump).

It is part publicity play, part philosophical statement that music has value, despite the tendency to expect it for free.
